2 Sketches 4 You!

Wow, school is back in session, and my kids were up bright and early this morning and ready for school before I was even downstairs. Gotta love all the excitement. Too bad it doesn't last all year.... I got this cute stamp set from Clear & Simple Stamps. My kids loved all the wii characters....

Just Rite Blog Hop!

WOW, I have the AWESOME opportunity of joining in on this Fantastic Blog Hop at Just Rite Stamps. This stamp set is fantastic and I loved using it. I had so many ideas in mind, but with getting the 4 older kids ready for school to start today, I wasn't able to spend as much time "playing" as I wanted. LOL! Thanks for joining us at JustRite stamps.

2 Sketches 4 You and The Cutting Cafe!!!

Wooo Hoooo! School starts next week. The kids will be returning to all their normal activities. And I will have time to stamp again. LOL! This summer has been hectic with moving, and I didn't plan activities with them this summer to leave the time available for all the craziness of moving. They are excited about returning and being with all their friends again. LOL!

This digital stamp from The Cutting Cafe' fits perfectly into my week this week. School will be starting and I will be making cards for their teachers. This card is pretty simple, I just love this bg stamp from the School Days file and I just had to use it.

I hope everyone had a great weekend...

2 Sketches 4 You with May Arts!

Wow, last weeks was such a fun week. My birthday was on Tuesday, and I had the awesome priviledge to be able to go to Orlando to meet with Kazan, Latisha and Lori. We also were able to meet some other blogger/cardmaking friends there.

This week at 2 Sketches 4 You we are being sponsored by May Arts and I received this wonderful ribbon. What a great quality and beautiful ribbon this is. I loved making these two cards. I have been so busy that making cards has been pushed to the back burner. I can't wait to get back into it again. Only two more weeks till school starts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I say YEAH! :)

Our New Home!

These last few weeks have been extremely hectic. We just moved into our new house and moving with the five kids home for the summer is not my idea of fun. LOL! But we made it and things are finally beginning to fall back into a routine.

I have to say that the stress of closing on this house that we purchased as a short sale was one that had me in fits most of the time. We never knew when they were going to call and say it was ready to close so packing little by little was virtually impossible. We needed to be out of our other house by the end of the month and finally on the 25th they called and said that all was well and we could close.

Then began the fun of packing as fast as you can and organization gets blown to the wind. Unpacking has been downright challenging. It has taken days to find things that were missing due to them being packed by dh or one of the movers.

Anyway, during all the stress of closing, our anniversary came up, and I completly forgot about it. DH came home bearing a dozen roses and the first thought I had was, "Why is he bringing me roses?". Needless to say, it made up for him forgetting my birthday when we were first married.
These pictures of this beautiful rose was taken by my 11 year old daughter. She took one of them outside and decided to take pictures. I thought they turned out very good.

These last two pictures are of our new house. The first one is from the front and the second one is of the back by the pool. This is the view that I have from my living room. I love being able to sit in the comforts of the a/c while the kids swim. They are enjoying using the pool and having so much room to spread out in.

It is good to be back in contact again, and hope to be able to join in some challenges soon and post some pics of the inside. I still have some more organizing to do first. It seems like a never ending job right now.

2 Sketches 4 You!

What a fun challenge this week. We have this wonderful sketch by Laura, and we have the awesome opportunity to use the Scor-It. This card was a lot of fun. I hope everyone has a great week and I will be posting pics as soon as my internet connection is working in the new house. Today is my sons 8th birthday, so we will be celebrating that with him today.

Today Is The Day!

"Today is the day that the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it!"

I have so much to be thankful for. We have worked so hard to get our new house. It is a short sale and with much prayer and much headache, it is finally a reality. We received the keys on Thurs. and today is the "DAY". We are going to be moving today and will be spending our first night in our new home.

We are so excited. We love the house and I am exhausted from all the work, but it will be worth it. Even though I have many more hours of back-breaking work ahead of me, I am on the down hill climb.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, I will be posting pics soon.

Kazan's Sketch 26 at 2 Sketches 4 You

Wow, it another great sketch at 2S4Y and another set of great products. We had the privelege of being able to use Starving Artist Stamps, Teresa Collins Paper and the mini Scor-It.

This adorable little goldfish and the bg stamp were from Starving Artist Stamps. the paper was from Teresa Collins and of course all the scored lined were done using the mini Scor-It. What an awesome tool this is.

Thursday of last week was such an exciting day for us. We have been in the process of trying to buy a house. It is a short sale, and it has taken quite a few twists and turns, but finally we received the phone call on Thursday that everything was approved and we will close tomorrow. So y'all know what that means, I will be packing and moving this week. and with the kids home for the summer it is quite a challenge. I know I have been a little out of the loop here, and hope after the move is over it will settle down and we can get back into a normal routine.

Please remember to keep Annie in your prayers!

Thanks,

Get Well Soon!

When I saw the challenge this week at Raspberry Suite, I just knew I had to try it. What a great color combo. These colors are sage, vintage cream, and black cardstock. This stamp set is one of my favorites. I just love the versatility of these adorable teapots. I love to see teapots setting around and have several different kinds in my kitchen. I used the gingham bg stamp by CHF and stamped it in a cream colored Stazon. The sentiment is stamped using Black Stazon. TFL!

Laura's Sketch and 2S4Y!

What a great sketch from Laura this week, and we also were able to use some great products by Clear Snaps. The stamp I used is the Mixed Dots roller. I stamped it using black ink and used the Martha Stewart butterfly punch for the butterflies. The top letters were stamped using JustRight Stamps.

I have been having problems with my computer. My mouse on my laptop has gone out and I am using an old mouse that isn't cooperating well. My email is not functioning properly and the only email I am getting is on my I-Phone. So frustrating... It seems I forget how much I rely on my computer until it goes wacky on me. LOL!

I want to request that everyone keeps the daughter of a friend of mine in their prayers. She is 17 months old and was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma that has mastisized in her brain and it is also in her bones. She is going through intense chemo and her and her family need lots of prayer.

I hope everyone has a great week and hopefully I will get time to post later this week.

What a Nightmare!

I decided to make a card today! Well, it didn't turn out so well. I couldn't find the stamp set I wanted, the kids kept interrupting me and things just weren't going as planned. This is the card that I finally ended up with. I love this paper and the lovely little cupcake. I hope everyone is having a great week.

The Ultimate Card Showdown Week #2 and Exciting News!

Happy Monday All! Wow, last week was AWESOME at 2S4Y! We had so many play along. There were so many fantastic submissions, it was great getting to see all the wonderful talent.

This wonderful sketch is from Kazan. What a fun sketch to work with. I used Teresa Collins DP for this card. The stitching was done using one of the fun stitches on my machine. I love using it for cards. (Now if I could just actually sew on material! LOL!!!)

Now for the EXCITING NEWS! I am soooooo thrilled to share with you. I submitted a card to Paper Crafts and it was accepted for submission. I can't wait. This is my first time being published and what an exciting adventure for me.

Life is Busy!

Wow, what a crazy week this has been. We have been waiting for the house to close, but it hasn't yet. The wait is driving me crazy. I have been packing, the kids are home from school for the summer, it isn't the best time of the month for stress anyway and yesterday I had three kids with stomach problems, YUCK!

I have been itching to get back to my blog so I decided to put on this card for the Color Throwdown challenge and also for Timeless Tuesday.

This week I had the wonderful opportunity at 2 Sketches 4 You to do the Bonus Sketch. This card was made for this sketch. To see it you can go to the 2 Sketches 4 You blog and join in on their challenge.

Our sponser this week was Starving Artist Stamps, and I really like this adorable rocking horse. I colored it using Prisma markers and I stamped the Harlequin bg stamp from SAS on the pink strip down the middle. The sentiment is also from SAS.

I made a second card using SAS, it was made using papers from K&Co.

Remember to put on your calender to join us at 2S4Y on June 1st for lots of fun and prizes.

A Sketch and The Pink Elephant!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY! I hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL Memorial Day! We are having a cookout later and other outdoor activities with the kids.

This week at TPE, Robin has a great sketch. This is my take on the sketch. I stitched a half circle and added this sentiment from PI. Then added some rub-ons and the ribbon and primas. Just a quick simple card.

I love these colors from Papertrey Ink. They are so soft and elegant looking.

These last few months have been so hot and dry that things have begin turning brown, and it just hasn't looked the same around here. All the ponds and lakes have been drying out and water animals have been struggling in some areas to stay alive. However, this past week it has rained almost constantly it seems like and it has been such a BIG blessing. We have enjoyed all of the rain. As I was making this card it made me think of all the rain, these colors seem to speak of rainy days. I hope it continues to rain for at least a few more days, we need it...

I was tagged by Linda, the tag requires that I tell 6 fascinating things about myself. I am not sure if I can come up with 6 "fascinating" things, so I will just tell 6 things about myself.

1. I have 5 kids ages 14, 11, 7, 6, and 2. They are 3 boys and 2 girls.

2. I love coffee (and so does my 2 year old {decaf})!

3. We have two pets.... a parakeet named Toby and a Guinea Pig named Oreo.

4. I dream one day to go on a Cruise.

5. When I was in college we put poppers under the rims of the toilet seats to scare the other dorm girls. It worked!!

6. I have been known to not recognize people I should. One day I needed to go into the city hall and I pulled the stroller from the back of the car. It was a new stroller and I didn't realize that it was attached together with plastic rings. I didn't have scissors or anything to cut it with, and the baby was asleep so I wasn't sure what to do when a lady walked past. I kindly asked her if she had some scissors or something I could use to cut it with and she gave me the strangest look. She of course said no, and went into the building. A few minutes later a young man came out with some scissors. It wasn't until a few days later that I realized I had asked the mayor of our city..... I am still embarassed when I think about it.. but I also laugh, she probably thought I was NUTS!

Just Because!

I made this card, just because. I found this adorable paper at JoAnns and bought it. It has been in my things and I have been wanting to use it, so I pulled it out and made this card. The little birds were cut from heidi grace dp. The button strip was embossed using my Cuttlebug. I also decided to use one of my favorite color combos.

I hope everyone is having a great week. I know that it gets so busy at this time of year because the kids are having end of the year activities and are so excited about school getting out for the summer, but if you are like me you still try to squeeze in blog and stamping time.

2 Sketches 4 You and BIG News!!!

We had the awesome privilege of using ShortCuts products this week. I used a vanilla gift card and made it as a tea bag card.. I loved how these cards are so versatile and fun. This first picture is of the card with a tea bag, the second picture is of the card opened.

I just couldn't resist making a second card using these products. This one was made using a black gift card holder from ShortCuts.

Now for the BIG News! 2 Sketches 4 You is hosting the 1st annual Ultimate Card Showdown. Everyone is invited to come and join in the fun. There are some great prizes up for grabs. So bring your MOJO and be ready for a good time.

The Pink Elephant!

I love Monogram cards, they are so elegant looking. This card was made using a basic white cardstock from Papertrey Ink. I stamped this frame from a Fiskars stamp set using a dark green Stazon. The letter is a piece of chipboard I covered using Martha Stewart glitter and pop dotted it over this fabulous ribbon. Thanks for stopping in a playing with us at TPE!

Card Patterns Sketch and Color Throwdown!

Wow, what a week. My 7 year old started on Sat with an eye infection, has been to Urgent Care twice and is on three different meds for the infection. They don't really know what caused it but it is being stubborn and not wanting to completely go away. He has been out of school all week. My oldest was home Mon. and Tues. with a stomach bug, so needless to say stamping has been a little on the back burner this week. I made this card for the challenge at Card Patterns and for the color challenge at Color Throwdown. I didn't have any so saffron paper so I used this dp which is the closest I was able to come. The button is also close to So Saffron, but in the pic you can't really tell.

The Pink Elephant and A Color Challenge!

Happy Mother's Day to everyone, I sure hope you enjoyed your day yesterday. This card is made for TPE color challenge which is to use light blue, medium blue, and green. This dp fit perfectly and since I wanted to really showcase the paper I kept the card very simple. I sewed around the edges and added this cute sticker and ribbon. The sticker was layered over blue cardstock and I cut around it using my pinking sheers.
